What was your intended objective when you started the build?
To fabricate a sled capable of aggressive riding, but sized for an 8 year old.
What motivated you to start your project?
My son was outgrowing the mini 120 he had. There was nothing offered that would fit his size and aggressive riding style, so I built him one. He was 8 years old at the time.
What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?
The chassis, suspension, and fuel tank are all fabricated from alum. The bodywork was hand laid fiberglass and the paint was candy red over gold base.
I did all the paint, and fab work myself in my home garage.
What are you most proud of?
The project was successful and there was not really anything that was changed or modified from the original build. It is still in use today as my friend has had both his kids learn to ride it as they are growing up.
What do other people say about your sled?
Passing people on the trail was always fun as they would usually do a double take and ty to figure out what it was.
