2000 Yamaha 700 Mountain Max

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Something a little more updated. Make it a more mountain friendly so to speak. Little easier to handle and fun to ride. And a longer track. Shave some weight off the old Yami. Go for a ride without being too beat up at the end of the day.

What motivated you to start your project?

I’m kind of a old school guy who loves old school builds. You just dont hear the sounds of a triple out on the snow much anymore.

I love the challenge of a build.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

An extended stock chain case and rolled back. Uses a Polaris lower gear. Thanks to Chris Cox for building the chain case.

I also had to mod the stock engine coolers under the foot rest for this to work with the rolled chain case. Wasn’t easy but probably the most unique and creative thing done to the sled. The 3” Avid anti ratchet drivers. You could run a 3” paddle for a track. It has a Cat  M-series skid with 162” track under it.

With Fox Float 2’s all the way around.

What are you most proud of?

That I did the build by myself.

What do other people say about your sled?

They seam to love the art work. The blood, sweat and gears that went into it…..
