1988 Yamaha SRV

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To try and restore the SRV to like new condition for our vintage rides. Also to relive some of the fun times I used to experience with the SRV.

What motivated you to start your project?

Had a SRV when I was much younger and really enjoyed the looks, power and reliability of the SRV. It never let me down and also had a buddy that had just picked up a 1982 Yamaha SS. He wanted to ride in a few vintage rides so I started looking for a sled.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

As I started the restore of the SRV I decided to replace all hardware possible with stainless steel, replaced all bearings with heavy duty versions with waterproof grease.

What are you most proud of?

I believe I accomplished my goal of restoring my SRV to like new condition with the upgrade of all hardware with SS and complete restoration of the complete stock suspension. Also replaced wood base of seat with PVC so it would never rot again

What do other people say about your sled?

Everyone that had seen it is impressed with how nice it turned out. Everyone says it looks like it just came off the showroom floor. I was very pleased
