1975 Scorpion Brut LC-44

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

My intentions from the beginning were to restore it back to original just as the original owner, who i purchased it from, bought it. When i found out he was a friend of my wife, I wanted to get it done and get a picture of him on it again.

What motivated you to start your project?

When I found the sled sitting next to the barn, I had never seen a sled like it before, and as I did my research on it, i found that there were not many built. Then as I got it home and showed my wife and told her who I purchased it from, she said he had been a long time friend. This is where my motivation truly came in to play. Before I had the chance to take the sled over to him and let him sit on it once again, he past away from cancer which up until then I didn’t know he was battling with.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

I cut out two small scorpion decals to put on either side by the hood latches and I’m currently working on a memorial decal for the original owner.

What are you most proud of?

I think the thing I’m most proud of are the decals on the sled. At the time I finished it, there were no kits available for it, so I bought the vinyl and cut them out off the originals from the sled.

What do other people say about your sled?

Most people say what a super nice job on it and how great it looks. Then the ones that don’t know much about the sled are surprised when I open the hood and they see the 3 cylinder engine laying down under it.
