Objective was to restore the sled close to original but also to upgrade components that were prone to poor/weak machine design.
My dad and I saved this sled from rotting in a field for 25 years. The motivation came from seeing how badly it had gotten from the elements and the final vision of what it could be with a little elbow grease.
The front suspension was widened 6” on each side from original ski stance to add stability to sled. Original metal ski’s were replaced with newer plastic ski’s.
Most proud of the final product and how closely it resembles the initial vision of the sled, from the start of the restoration
“Sled should of been scrapped”
“Can’t believe this is the same sled”
“I’ve never seen a sled like this in my life”
“You should be proud of your vision and craftsmanship”
